So far
the list of spellings below of our surname appear in our family tree. It
must be remembered that up until the late nineteenth century most of the
population were illiterate. So the people who recorded the weddings,
births, deaths and census would write down the
spelling they thought it should be in these official document. So in
the webmaster case the surname is spelt as set out below.
This
shows that if you do not look for other spellings of the family name you
could become stuck in your search for your ancestors.
